In Weller Court, there was a memorial for Ellison Onizuka, who had been the first Japanese American to be in outer space. There was supposed to be a statue of a rocket there, but when we went, it had been taken down for renovation. All that was left there was the pedestal, which had a picture of Onizuka and a brief description of his accomplishments.
